Originally built as a rectory for the St. Joseph’s New Cathedral, which was demolished in 1976, the building was turned into a retirement residence by the Buffalo diocese more than 30 years ago. It has been vacant for the past few years as its few remaining residents were relocated to other Diocese retirement facilities.
